Here’s a really cute widget with a hand-picked selection of Israel/Aliyah-themed books. Have others you would suggest? Comments on the ones included? Please share.
You can also order a copy of my book ‘Moving Up: An Aliyah Journal’ directly from me by sending a check for $15, which includes postage and handling, to: c/o Marty Ginsberg, 2 Executive Blvd, Suite 103, Suffern, NY 10901.
That looks like a really cool collection of aliyah books. I am most excited learning about “First Rain” the children’s book. Thanks for the suggestions!!!
Thank you for posting this wonderful list. I have read 4 of the ten you have listed and plan on reading the others. So far I can highly recommend (in approximate order) “Moving Up”, “Home to Stay”, “Aliya”, and “From Jersey to Judea”. This is a very useful list for all of us in the middle of the aliyah process and those thinking about going home. Have you thought about making a similar list of blogs?
I look forward to reading your future posts. Shabbat Shalom!
Thanks so much for the feedback! Good idea to have a list of good Aliyah blogs. I’ll work on that.
Umm – what’s a widget? I couldn’t figure out how to access the list. . . sorry. . .
I like this post! I think you could add some of Gordis other books to this list also. They are all great.
I started writing a blog on my experience of getting my family together to move to Israel(2011-2012). I couldn’t find very much on the internet so, I decided to write my own. I am still writing after being here 3 months as I want to share what it is like once you get here. I have quite a following and try to write with humour to make it enjoyable, entertainging and yet people can learn from it as well.
Please take a look and let me know your thoughts as I love feedback!
Thanks so much.

I strongly recommend you add A Financial Guide to Aliyah and Life in Israel by Baruch Labinsky.
Great idea!! I have to see if I remember how to edit the widget…
